She needs to knows without a doubt he really loves her. Jazz deals with his anger, jealousy, and Bell's betrayal by hitting the bottle. At times their behavior seemed more like two love sick teenagers, and I wanted to smack them upside the head and knock some sense into them, but their behavior fit their personalities and made for lots of growth. Mixed in with all this drama is a high profile preacher, his self-centered, young wife, and a murder. Of course, Bell has to step in and do some sleuthing herself which adds to the personal drama between Jazz and Bell. Woven beneath the action is a subtle theme about judging others and how many times we can get it wrong…and right. If you're a Bell and Jazz fan, you'll be pleased to know that all works out in the end, but the journey is what makes it all worth the trip. |
