WilliamsThe fast pace and intriguing suspense storyline of this novel won't let you put it down until you have reached the satisfying conclusion. After witnessing the murder of her brother, photographer Emma St. James barely escapes the murderers but loses her sight after nearly being run over in a car accident. The doctors say it is only temporary, but for this independent woman, having to rely on others isn't easy. Collin Fitzpatrick is busy raising his teenage twin daughters and shepherding the congregation he preaches for. He doesn't have time to take care of a blind woman, temporary or not. But because of his involvement in Emma's accident and subsequent rescue, he feels obligated to help her. When he meets Emma's parents, who seem to be determined to hurt her more than help her, he knows he must do something. Collin and Emma search for clues about her brother's life, while growing closer. Can they solve the crime before the murderers catch up with Emma? Will Emma believe in God's love after so many disappointments in life? Will she lose her heart to Collin or find love instead? Margaret Daley has weaved an intense tale filled with suspense, romance and excellent writing. Daley keeps the reader engaged with realistic characters who have flaws and concerns, just like all of us. The fast pace and intriguing suspense storyline of this novel won't let you put it down until you have reached the satisfying conclusion. Romance between Collin and Emma is present but not overpowering and will make your heart warm with touching scenes between the two. This is a great read and I highly recommend it. |
