Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself. A: I home school my children as well as write romantic suspense novels for Love Inspired Suspense. I’ve lived in several states and currently make my home in Minnesota. Q: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer? A: I’ve always been a writer at heart, but it wasn’t until 2001 when I made the committed decision to answer the call to write for publication. I joined ACRW and never looked back. Q: Do you (or did you) have other career aspirations? A: I’ve had plenty of dreams—wanted to be a marine biologist and then astronaut! LOL—and to some extent, I fulfilled my dreams of success in corporate America. But right now, and for the last fifteen years, I’m all about publishing. Q: Do you find certain themes reoccurring in your books? If so, what are they and why? If not, what is the theme in your current release? A: Yes, I have recurring things. Forgiveness and letting go of the past so you can move forward into the future. Trusting in God and giving him control of your life. Wondering where God is in your life only to find He was there all along. I usually just let the theme grow from the story organically, so I’m never sure what it’s going to be. Q: Would you tell us about your current book release SUBMERGED? A: One reviewer mentioned this story reminded her of that The Last Crusade Indiana Jones movie. That wasn’t my intention but I can understand how she thought that. My character is searching for her missing father. Throw in some adventure, caving, a shipwreck and a murder mystery, and you’ve got SUBMERGED. Here’s the blurb: IN TOO DEEP With Christmas just around the corner, Cobie MacBride wants closure in the case of her missing father. But when a visit to the last place he was seen leads to an attack by a masked assailant, Cobie knows she’s in over her head. Running for her life, she never expected to find safety with Adam Warren—the man she blames for her brother’s death. Seeking answers leads them to a treasure ship, buried secrets…and deadly danger. Christmas could find them starting a new future—if they can avoid getting trapped in the perils of the past. MOUNTAIN COVE: In the Alaskan wilderness, love and danger collide Q: Where did the idea for this story come from? A: This is the 4th book in my Mountain Cove series and I knew I wanted to include caving in southeast Alaska and once I started writing, my imagination took it from there. Q: Tell us a little about your main character and how you developed him/her. A: Adam is one of the Warren siblings the Mountain Cove books focus around. He’s the youngest brother and as I began comparing him to his siblings, I realized he would feel they had left him behind, so he is just about to leave Alaska to see the world, when he runs into an old flame—his best friend’s sister. The best friend whose death Adam feels responsible for. It was easy enoug to develop Cobie, his romantic interest in the story, with that kind of history between them. It’s all about adventure and seeking thrills, until someone dies. Q: Who/what has influenced your writing career the most? A: I love action adventure romance books and movies, so I’d have to say that my books tend to lean that way naturally. Q: Would you share with us what you are working on now? A: I recently turned in books 5 and 6 of the Mountain Cove series and just started on the first book in a new series set in the Wild Rogue Wilderness. I’m so excited about this new series that centers around a family (and friends) of survival training and wilderness adventure excursions. Throw a bit of a spy thriller into the mix and it’s a wild ride. Q: Is you were a dessert, what would it be and why? A: Chocolate. Everyone would love me. Q: Is there something about you most people wouldn’t know? A: I’m an introvert? Nah, they probably know that. I’m an artist and a musician as well as a writer. Sort of. Q: If you could have dinner with 2 people, who would they be? A: I’d love to visit my friend Lisa Harris in Africa and have dinner with her and her husband. Q: Is there a place you have always wanted to visit? A vacation spot, historical monument, overseas, etc? A: The Mediterranean. I love all things Tuscany. Q: Where can readers find you on the internet?
Q: Anything else you’d like to tell or share with us? A: If you’d like to hear about book release news and updates please sign up for my newsletter at my website. |
