Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself. A: I’ve been writing for over 35 years and a couple books away from my 100th book sold. I’m a retired teacher of children with special needs. I’ve been blessed to do two of my most favorite things—teaching and writing. Q: When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer? A: In the late 1970s I decided to write one of the many stories flowing through my mind (always loved to make up stories as a child while playing with my dolls). That started my journey. Q: Would you tell us about your current book release Deadly Noel? A: This is a book I started ten years ago and put aside. It has also tugged at me. I decided to take it out and complete it. From what I started 10 years ago, it has changed quite a bit. The concept though was the same—Kira Davis put the wrong man in prison. Now she has to catch the real killer before he kills her. Q: Where did you get your inspiration for Deadly Noel? A: One day I wondered what would happen to a man falsely accused and convicted who was released and had to work with the prosecutor who put him in prison to find the real killer. The tension and emotions could be strong in the story. Q: What is the main thing you hope readers remember from this story? A: How important forgiveness is in your life. True peace comes from letting go of anger and forgiving—not always an easy thing to accomplish. Q: What is your favorite scene/chapter from the book? A: In order to protect his young daughter, the hero has to send her away with his wife’s controlling mother who thinks her daughter married beneath her. Q: What inspires you to write? A: God. The stories come from him. Q: How has being a published novelist differed from your expectations of the profession? A: To tell you the truth, I never had a lot of expectations. I didn’t realize it was such hard work though. Q: What advice or tips do you have for writers who are just getting started? A: Don’t give up. There can be a lot of hills and valleys in your career. Q: Would you share with us what you are working on now? A: I’m working on the sequel to Deadly Noel called Deadly Dose. The story is about Jessie, the sister to Gabriel, the hero in Deadly Noel. Q: When you’re not writing what do you like to do? A: Spend time with family and friends. Q: Where can readers find you on the internet?
