Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself. A: I’ve been writing books for 35 years. I’m a few books away from having my 100th book published. My favorite genre is romantic suspense. Q: As a child or teenager, did you ever dream of being an author? A: No, I wanted to be a teacher, but I always loved making up stories and daydreaming about a story. Q: Would you tell us about your current book release The Protector’s Mission? A: Lydia McKenzie is the only living witness to a serial bomber’s latest threat. Surviving the explosion at the café, Lydia is rescued by police sergeant Jesse Hunt and his K-9 partner, a Rottweiler named Brutus. She’s struggling to remember details of the incident. But one thing she’ll never forget is how she once felt about Jesse—the high school sweetheart she left to marry another. In charge of her protection, the guarded cop believes the bomber’s after her, and he promises to keep her safe. But as more of Lydia’s memories return, the more the vicious killer wants her dead. Q: Where did the idea for this story come from? A: I’ve been doing books about search and rescue in Alaska. I wanted to have a SAR situation in a big city and this idea came up. Q: Tell us a little about your main character and how you developed him/her. A: Jesse Hunt is a police sergeant for the Anchorage Police Department. he is part of the K-9 Unit. He appeared in the second book in the series. He spends a lot of his spare time helping with search and recuse missions. He’s a dedicated police officer who has lived in Alaska all his life. Q: Would you share with us what you are working on now? A: I’m finishing up The Knight and the Damsel about a female bull rider and a bull fighter on the rodeo circuit. It will come out October 15, 2015. Q: What is a favorite memory from your childhood? A: Riding my bike all over Lexington with my friends. We had so much freedom then. Q: Where do you escape for some quiet time? A: My office. Q: What would you be doing if you weren’t writing? A: I taught school for 27 years. I might still be teaching. I loved working with students with special needs. Q: What is the craziest, most risk-taking thing you’ve ever done? A: Coming up out of the London tube into the middle of a riot over poll taxes. Very scary. My friend and I got out of there before the riot became ugly. Q: What one thing have you always wanted to do but couldn’t afford to do? A: Go to Australia. Q: I’m an avid gardener and have to ask what kind of flower you would be and why? A: An orchid—my husband raises them. Q: Where can readers find you on the internet?
