Q: How long have you been writing and what other careers or jobs have you had? A: I’ve been writing for 37 years. Also during that time I taught middle and high school for 27 years. I’m retired from teaching but not writing. Q: Do you write in only one genre and if so which one and why? If not, which ones and why? A: I mostly write romantic suspense now, but I have written historical and contemporary romances. Q: How does your faith play into your writing? A: It’s woven into my characters—their struggles and how they deal with problems. Q: How do you choose your settings for your books? A: For this book since I was writing about the Texas Rangers, the book had to be placed in Texas. Most of the time I pick a fictional town and I did in this story. Q: Do you base your characters on people you know or are they totally made up? A: Probably a little of both. I draw from my life and the people I meet but a character is never like a real person I know. Q: Would you tell us about your current book release HIGH-RISK REUNION? A: When district attorney Tory Carson returns home after a long day in court prosecuting a gang leader, she finds her house trashed. Concerned that the vandalism is connected to the trial, the local police chief calls the Texas Rangers…and her former love Cade Morgan responds. Tory’s history with Cade—and the secret they share—makes her reluctant to let him back into her life. But Tory doesn’t want to choose between bringing down a gang leader and protecting her teenage daughter. With the threat escalating the longer she tries the case, the safest place for Tory and her daughter is at Cade’s ranch. But can Cade protect them long enough for Tory to bring the criminal to justice? Q: Where did you get your inspiration for this story? A: I’ve written about the Texas Rangers before, but it had been years. I wanted to revisit them and build a series around them. Q: What is the main thing you hope readers remember from this story? A: One of my themes I use a lot because I think it is important is forgiving ourselves and others. If you can’t forgive, it is hard to move on in your life. Q: Would you share with us what you are working on now? A: I’m working on the second book in the series about the Texas Rangers. I’ve just started it and am excited about the storyline. Q: If money were no object what vacation would you like to take and why? A. To go to Australia. I’ve always wanted to see the country, especially the unique animals. Q: Where can readers find you on the internet?
Q: Anything else you’d like to tell or share with us? A: If you are a writer, don’t give up. Persistence is important as a writer. If you’re a reader, I hope you discover a lot of good stories to read. |
