Q: How long have you been writing and what other careers or jobs have you had? A. I have been writing for about thirty-four years. I was a high school special education teacher for twenty-seven years until I retired a few years back. Q: Do you write in only one genre and if so which one and why? If not, which ones and why? A: I write Christian romance and romantic suspense because that is what I love to read. I always like a good love story, but I also like to mix it up with suspense and mystery. Q: How does your faith play into your writing? A. I wouldn’t be writing what I am without the Lord. He gave me a story I had to tell as an inspirational romance. The faith element needed to be in that book. That is what got me started writing in the Christian market. As I’ve been writing these past twelve years in the CBA market, I’ve seen my own faith grow and deepen. Q: How do you choose your settings for your books? A. A lot of time I have no idea. Usually my story comes to me, and then I decide depending on the story where to place it. A few times the setting has determined what my story was–example Heart of the Amazon. Q: Do you base your characters on people you know or are they totally made up? A: Really they are totally made up, but what I see and am exposed to do affect how my characters turn out. Q: Would you tell us about your current book release, Shattered Silence? A: A serial killer is targeting illegal aliens in southern Texas. Texas Ranger Cody Jackson is paired with a local police officer, Liliana Rodriguez, to investigate the murders. ?? While the case brings Cody and Liliana ever closer, the tension between Americans and Mexican Americans heightens. As Cody and Liliana race to discover who is behind the murders and bring peace to the area, what they uncover isn’t what they expected. Will Cody and Liliana’s faith and love be strong enough to survive the storm of violence? Q: Where did you get your inspiration for Shattered Silence? A: People who are bullied need to speak up–not be silent about what is happening to them. Q: What is the main thing you hope readers remember from this story? A: We can make a difference where bullying is involved. Q: Tell us what you like about the main characters of this book. A: Liliana came from a household where there was abuse (a form of bullying), but she learned to stand up against it and to help others do the same thing. Q: Would you share with us what you are working on now? A. I’m working on the fourth book in the Men of the Texas Rangers Series. Severed Trust is about prescription drug abuse. Q: If money were no object what vacation would you like to take and why? A. To Australia with a stop in Tahiti because I’ve always wanted to see Australia and I’ve wanted to go back to Bora Bora and stay in a room over the water. Q: What is the hardest thing you have ever done? A. Raised a child. Parenting is one of the hardest jobs in the world. Q: Where can readers find you on the internet? A.
