A: I would never have started writing if my husband hadn’t challenged me to write a book. In 1996 he said, “Stop telling me you are going to write a book one day. Do it now. Quit your job and see if you can get anything published in the next year.” I took him up on his challenge, and my first book was published

Q: How did you get your start writing fiction and what genre do you predominantly write in?
A. I started writing when I was still working as a police officer. I have always loved to read police procedurals, crime novels, and suspense novels, so when I started to write, that was the direction I went: suspense novels with a police officer as the main character.
