Q: Let me start with asking you to tell us a little bit about yourself.
A: I grew up in the home of a pilot. As a teen in the 1940s, Dad did odd jobs at Michigan’s Pontiac Airport in exchange for flying lessons. He always owned one airplane or another as I grew up. Q: How long have you been writing and what other careers or jobs have you had?
A: I’ve been writing fiction for 15 years. Before that I was a journalist and public relations manager. I worked mostly for associations and school districts. My favorite job was writing medical summaries and pitching stories to the media for the American Academy of Pediatrics.

A: I’m a native New Yorker. I was born in the city, but we moved to Long Island when I was in third grade so I grew up near the ocean.
