Q: What one thing would you like readers to know about you?
A: That I love the Lord and I pray that my writing inspires them.
Q: What is the craziest, most risk-taking thing you’ve ever done?
A: I just moved to Hawaii! I sold my house, got rid of a LOT of stuff, crate-trained my dogs to fly on the plane, bought a house on the Big Island, and now this is my home. It was scary, and I miss my old church and friends, but I am excited about this new adventure.
Q: Tell me three things about yourself that would surprise your readers.
A: 1. love old movies, can’t really get into the new stuff being released.
2. I love dogs, but I’m not crazy about cats.
3. I’m addicted to word games I play on my phone.
Q: Would you tell us about your current book release, Cold Aim, and where the idea for this story came from?
A: Cold Aim is the last in my Line of Duty series. After police chief Tess O’Rourke agrees to let the FBI place a victim of human trafficking in a shelter in town, she finds herself facing off with a deadly killer. She also finds herself growing closer to local pastor Oliver Macpherson. But will her closeness to Oliver put him in danger?
The story idea came from a couple of places. First, where I used to live, I supported the building of a shelter for victims of human trafficking. The victims had to be protected from the people they were rescued from—and from themselves, as they would often try to flee back to their captors. This, and my interest in cold cases, helped me develop the story line. Human trafficking is an evil practice, and I wish that it were as easy to destroy in real life as it is in fiction.
