Q: What one thing would you like readers to know about you?
A. I’m a huge animal person. I have two dogs and three cats. My furry friends are my editorial companions and a source of so much joy. And whoever said cats are low maintenance have NOT met my cats.
Q: What is the craziest, most risk-taking thing you’ve ever done?
A. LOL. Well, I am a very risk-averse person. We just did a team building event for work where we did an aerial ropes course. I was proud of myself for taking that risk. But I’m not the type of person that would ever want to skydive or bungee jump. I don’t even enjoy roller coasters anymore.
Q: Tell me three things about yourself that would surprise your readers.
A. 1) I almost worked for a government intelligence agency-I opted to go to law school instead, 2) I have a Masters in Middle Eastern studies (see number 1), and 3) I was a high school cheerleader!
Q: Would you tell us about your current book release Lone Witness and where the idea for this story came from?
A. Lone Witness is about Sophie Dawson, a prosecutor who is working a financial crimes case, but in the midst of that case she becomes the only witness to a double homicide involving a dangerous gang. As the lone witness to the crime, she becomes a target of the gang who doesn’t want her to testify. Sophie has to take off her prosecutor hat and learn how to become a witness. But her work as a prosecutor still must go on, so she has to balance the two roles—and the danger that ensues! As I was brainstorming ideas for the book, I thought, wouldn’t it be interesting if the prosecutor became a witness. And that’s where it all started.
