Q: How long have you been writing and what other careers or jobs have you had? A. I have been writing for publication since 2010 and blessed to have three books published and another on the way this September. I still work as my church’s Children’s Ministry Director as well as home school my children. In my past career after college, I was a Special Education teacher. Q: Do you write in only one genre and if so which one and why? If not, which ones and why? A: Romantic Suspense. I tried writing Contemporary Romance, but the villains kept showing up. Q: How does your faith play into your writing? A. It is integral, layered throughout my suspense stories—as my tagline states, “Higher Purpose Stories in High Speed Worlds.” Q: How do you choose your settings for your books? A. They are usually places I have been that I feel would make a great setting for a story. The location needs to be strong enough to bring something to the story. Q: Do you base your characters on people you know or are they totally made up? A: Totally made up. I really let the characters tell me who they are. Q: Would you tell us about your current book release Grave Danger? A: I’m a fan of the T.V. show Bones and love Brennan. The idea of creating a female forensic anthropologist was a lot of fun. Here’s the back cover blurb: GRAVE DANGER BONES OF CONTENTION: When skeletal remains are found on a small Maine island, forensic anthropologist Lydia Muir is sent to investigate. It’s Lydia’s job to determine whether the homicide happened long ago—or more recently. Island sheriff Wesley Grant seems sure the murder didn’t happen on his watch. But when Lydia uncovers the victim’s identity, someone goes to great lengths to get Lydia off the island. Wes vows to protect her, but is the handsome lawman holding something back? Q: What is the main thing you hope readers remember from this story? A: Trust goes both ways, and when a man trusts his wife, she is able to bless him even more. Q: Tell us what you like about the main characters of this book. A: They are hysterical. They had me cracking up so many times. Q: Would you share with us what you are working on now? A. A fourth book set in Stepping Stones, Maine. Q: If money were no object what vacation would you like to take and why? A. Scotland. It is part of my heritage, and I would love to bring my dad to see it at least once. Q: What is the hardest thing you have ever done? A. Fostering and adoption. Maybe someday I’ll write about it. Q: Where can readers find you on the internet? Q: Anything else you’d like to tell or share with us? A. I am holding a Facebook Launch Party on May 2,2014. Lots of author donations and prizes. Hope you sign up and stop by! https://www.facebook.com/events/1477178232495608/?ref_dashboard_filter=calendar |
