Eric Wilson in his new book “Two Seconds Late” Book Two in the By The Numbers series published by Kingstone Publishing takes us back into the life of Natalie Flynn.
From the back cover: Microchips in humans…Lifesaving option? Or dangerous ploy?
Natalie Flynn has faced fears of her own. Now, as she dates Rueben King, a powerful young politician, she is in position to influence his vote on a groundbreaking new bill that paves the way for the microchipping of humans. What she doesn’t know is that others are also pulling strings–and shaping a deadly conspiracy. In a modern spin on the Biblical story of Esther, Natalie’s been raised up for “such a time as this.”
But in the race against time, is she already too late?
For me one of the most frightening aspects of the future portrayed in the book of Revelation is the mark of the beast. A mark, placed on the back of the hand or forehead, that lets you do business. Without this mark no one will be able to go to a store and buy or have savings or work. In Eric Wilson’s” Two Seconds Late” there is a company that makes microchips that is lobbying to pass legislation that will make them legal and have them implanted in humans. They are already, illegally, implanting their chips in select humans so they can show what the chips are capable of to potential buyers. This company will stop at nothing to have this legislation passed including murder and blackmail. “Two Seconds Late” is a page-flipping thriller where not only is Natalie’s life in danger but the lives of others as well. Mr. Wilson’s great skill is not only in creating suspenseful plots but in his marvelous characterizations. From Natalie and Darcy Page, the corporate head, all the way down to minor characters they all come to life and we sit on the edge of our seats and we root for them to succeed in the face of what seems like overwhelming odds. “Two Seconds Late” is a great read with Mr. Wilson making us flip the pages as fast as we can because we want to know what happens with Natalie and see if she survive and puts the bad guys out of business. I do not recommend starting this book late at night because it will cost you sleep as you will not want to put it down. Mr. Wilson is an excellent writer and knows how to twist your nerve endings as he tightens the suspense. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
