FBI Special Agent Heather Lawrence boards a plane in Houston, TX, for a trip to Salzburg that she hadn’t planned on going solo. Her husband, Dr. Chad Lawrence of Lawrence Laboratories, is an expert in CDC and pathogens. He was supposed to be by her side, but he’d chosen his job over her and walked out.
Heather settles into her seat, and a few hours into the flight, she finds herself in the middle of chaos. Passengers suddenly become ill, and it’s too many to be a coincidence. Her specialized training as an FBI agent alerts her to the realization that someone dispelled a deadly virus, and it was running rampant through the plane. But who would be so callused?
The plane lands, and a quarantine facility awaits those who are still alive. Heather fears the virus will spread and claim more lives, but she opts not to alert her husband. After refusing to sign divorce papers, he’d said she was in his way. Had he committed this crime to rid himself of her?
I give Airborne five-plus stars.
