As a former student at Webster College, Danielle is all too familiar with the older murder as it was her roommate who was tragically killed. When this website depicts a similar crime all the memories of her friend’s death floods back, throwing Danielle for a loop. But Danielle is a strong woman and despite her fear, she is determined to help Jack discover the killer’s identity and protect the reputation of her college.
Mountain Peril is Robbins second romantic suspense title from Steeple Hill, hot on the tails of her award nominated, Final Warning and it is clear to see why she is making a name for herself in this genre. Not an easy task as it is so hard to find a perfect balance between suspense and romance, yet Robbins does just that. She gives suspense readers an exciting plot, drawing them into the story right from the start and keeping them flipping the pages with unexpected twists. Yet the romance lover enjoys how the romance develops naturally and realistically between two characters who are flawed and struggling with life. I especially enjoyed how Danielle saw a vulnerability in Jack even though he worked hard to hide it. If that’s not enough, the authenticity of the college scene from an administrator’s point of view is so well done that you could easily picture yourself in Danielle’s world. So pick up Mountain Peril today and keep your eyes out for future Sandra Robbin’s romantic suspense titles coming from Steeple Hill.
