The house isn’t only full of trash-its full of mice. And when the carpenter, repairing some of the jobs on the house hears Carrie screaming, he dashes in to play the hero and instead uncovers a dead body, his employee who hadn’t showed up for work in three days.
So, who killed the man in the closet? And does the corpse have anything to do with Carrie’s grandmother’s death?
Of Mice . . .And Murder is the first book in the Makie-the-Mouse Mystery series. I love Mary Connealy’s writing style, she is a master at helping us care for the characters and giving them quirky fears and personalities. Both Carrie and the hero, Nick, have very low self-esteem, and struggle with those issus.
Readers of cozy mysteries will not want to miss Of Mice . . .And Murder. They will feel for Carrie and Nick, and laugh all the way through this book. Might not want to read this while drinking anything, for danger of spewing liquids. $6.95. 255 pages.
