When Elvis’ widow begs Gabby to find the killer, Gabby has an excuse to get involved. But she’s no longer the only crime scene cleaner in town, and her rival, Chad Davis, is infringing on Gabby’s territory. As she gets closer to the killer, someone starts trailing Gabby. Will she survive long enough to identify the murderer?
Suspicious Minds is the second book in the Squeaky Clean Mystery Series, but it easily stands alone. I enjoyed reconnecting with Gabby, but I had a little trouble remembering and reconnecting with some of the secondary characters. Still, Gabby’s quirky set of friends added to the story instead of detracting from it.
Suspicious Minds is a fun read. The faith message is expertly woven in and isn’t preachy. I felt Suspicious Minds didn’t start out as well as Hazardous Duty did, but by the time I read a couple chapters I was hooked and had to keep reading to see what happened next. There were a few laugh out loud moments in the book that I had to share with anybody within hearing. I hope there will be another book in this series coming but I was unable to find anything mentioned on the author’s website. Don’t miss Suspicious Minds.
