That, unfortunately, is not the case. During a weekend visit from her handsome FBI Agent suitor, Jill is drawn into investigating the death of a congressmen’s aide. His drowning seems to be an accident, but Jill must help uncover the facts and find out if all is really as it seems.

With a love life that’s almost as confusing as the case she’s helping to investigate, Jill has her plate full. Navigating both of them, while at the same time getting her newspaper back into primetime is going to take everything she’s got.

The Candidate by Susan Wales and Robin Shope is full of adventure and intrigue. The characters are well developed and believable. The story twists and turns, and you never know what’s around the next corner. Wales and Shope do a good job of not only telling an exciting story, but making the political elements realistic. With a touch of mystery, a touch of romance and a large dose of suspense, The Candidate will keep you guessing until the very end.
