Luke Kauffman’s life may depend on the Christian community’s willingness to swallow pride and work together for good and truth.
In the second book of the Soul Tracker Series, The Presence, a unique pair of high-powered goggles allows a person to see spiritual forces within people. Due to an accident, Luke’s eyes are damaged and he is able to see things through the goggles that no one else can. Though they are damaged, the goggles allow access to supernatural vision so overwhelming, he may never recover.
Casino Rancheria is touted as the answer to a flagging economy, but one pastor and his congregation lead a fight to close the sinful establishment. While Virgil and his wife Fiona agree, they know that their “struggle is not against flesh and blood” but against spiritual forces of evil-evil that dwells in Taquitz Peak, seeking to take over Agua Rancheria and its Indian inhabitants. How will they take on such a formidable opponent?
Luke, wanting to prove himself as an adult, takes on the powers of darkness along with a newfound friend. Can they learn the truths of spiritual warfare before the entire community is destroyed?
Race relations and bridging the gap between Christians of differing views are two subjects Myers tackles effectively in this novel. Why is it that only when circumstances veer out of control do we finally band with our Christian brothers and sisters in fervent prayer? Myers pulls no punches, ruling no one as perfect or guiltless, but calling all to accountability, honesty and genuine caring for each other.
If you are a fan of supernatural suspense, you will most likely enjoy The Seeing. Powerful in its imagery and thematic elements, your faith will be challenged and encouraged as you are entertained by an intriguing story.
