He has run out of leads and as the body count continues to grow, it becomes more personal for him. As father to teen, Jenna, even though their relationship is challenging right now, he can understand the pain felt by the parents of the girls. Despite both Connor and Sam’s hard work the stakes escalate, bringing the case far Too Close to Home, when Jenna becomes involved.
In Too Close to Home, author Lynette Eason has chosen a topic that is very timely to our world today and that makes her story all the more compelling and believable. Teens are warned about Internet relationships but this book clearly points out that a simple warning isn’t enough and ignoring the warning can end with deadly consequences.
From the very first page of the book, the reader is captured by the suspense and the plot quickly escalates keeping you turning the pages until the end. The characters are real with very real personal issues to deal with and you find yourself caring for them and turning the page to reveal their next struggle. Though I didn’t mention the romance in the summary of the book, there is a very engaging romance between Sam and Connor and yet it doesn’t overpower the story.
Plus, if you like to get inside the bad guys head, Eason writes chapters from the killer’s point of view. And might I say, she does so expertly. And at the same time, she brings you a spiritual message that is not heavy-handed. So, if you love romance, suspense, and a message of hope and faith, check out Too Close to Home. You’ll be glad you did.
