Review – Too Close to Home

As she moves on with her life, will the proximity to brutal crime again paralyze her, or will she spring into action?

Six disappearances and three dead bodies in sixteen months set the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division in the center of controversy. Evidence is limited and law enforcement is blamed for the fact that the killer has not been apprehended. Connor decides to take on the case in order to live closer to his daughter Jenna, who is living with her grandparents.

As CSI investigates the crime scene someone is watching. The Agent knows their every move. The Agent knows how to avoid leaving a trail. The Agent won’t give up in his money and power hungry schemes. When The Agent deals a deathblow to someone close to Connor and begins sending text messages to his daughter, it becomes personal.

Samantha and Connor’s romance is a melody played soft and sweet. I appreciated the fact that the mystery was on the front burner, yet the romantic tension bubbled over bringing warmth to the novel in spite of the heart-stopping suspense. I look forward to watching their romance continue to blossom as they work together as an investigating team.

The minute I finished Too Close to Home I was ready to read further to find out what happens next to these characters that captivated me for the past several hundred pages. Eason has written a tome that is not only nearly impossible to put down, but keeps the reader wondering until the last page. And then just when you think resolution is at hand, Eason pulls in the final cliffhanger, which leaves the reader begging for the sequel.
