Don Brown in his new book, "Hostage" Book Two in the Navy Justice series published by Zondervan gives us an adventure with Zack Brewer.
From the back cover: Zack Brewer faces a choice. It can prevent the next war. But it will cost the life of the person he loves the most.
JAG Officer Zack Brewer's prosecution of three terrorists posing as Navy chaplains was called the "court martial of the century" by the press. Now, with the limelight behind him, all Zack wants to do is forget. But the radical Islamic organization behind the chaplains has a long memory―and a thirst for revenge.
Now the Navy has a need for Zack that eclipses all else. When an unthinkable act of aggression brings Israel and its Arab neighbors to the brink of war, Zack and co-counsel Diane Colcernian are called to the case of a lifetime. As leading nations focus their gaze upon these two, other eyes are watching as well.
Zack and Diane are in harm's way.
A kidnapping, an ultimatum…and suddenly, Zack faces an impossible choice. If he loses this case, the world could explode into war. If he wins, his partner―the woman he loves―will die.
And Zack himself may not survive to make the decision.
When Don Brown wants to do book two in a series it doesn't just mean give them another adventure. It means pick up the storyline from the first one and keep it going. Let me tell you this is one exciting book. Here is what I recommend: eat dinner early, go to the bathroom, make your popcorn and turn off all your phones. You are not going to want to be disturbed while you are reading and you will want to finish the book before you go to bed. Don Brown knows how to write a perfect thriller. Zack is between a rock and a hard place. Do what he is told and Diane lives. Don't do what he is told and Diane dies. The possibility also exists that Zack isn't going to make it either. The action flies in this book and the suspense builds and builds with each page. All I can say is that you will be riveted as you flip pages as fast as you can read. You will not be disappointed. I recommend this book with enthusiasm!
