Review – Backlash

For those who are content sensitive: this book contains non-graphic scenes and descriptions of physical and sexual assault. My take: This is book two in the Capital Intrigue series. It is a stand alone book, however you do miss some history of some of the characters and other good reads by skipping book one, "End Game". This book is full of mystery, suspense and some romance. If you enjoy reading FBI, NCIS, CIA type books you will love this one. We reconnect with many interesting characters, which we met in book one. There are different story lines throughout this book, however it is well written and you always know which characters are speaking. This book focus is on Layla and Hunter. When they are forced to work together they must put aside their difference to discover a mole and try to keep the cartel from killing her. I look forward to reading book three. I love all the characters and all the story lines throughout this series.
