I’ve always preferred reading suspense, romantic suspense, or even a contemporary romance. However, I decided to read outside my genre, so I picked up Tom Threadgill’s Coming of Winter. Goodness, what a choice? The minute I started reading, I wanted to slam the book shut, but it was too late, I had to know what was going to happen. Oh my! This wasn’t a thriller I wanted to read, so why did I continue? Simple. It grabbed me from the beginning, just like any suspense is supposed to do.
I found it rather gruesome, and yet, I kept reading. I held my breath on multiple occasions. Oh no! I didn’t want that to happen. Once it did, I realized I had no clue what would happen next. Threadgill successfully tied up all the loose ends, and my heartrate finally returned to normal. And to think, this was just the first book in his Jeremy Winter Thriller series.
FBI Special Agent Jeremy Winters is asked to look for a friend’s missing wife, but what he stumbles into is much more that one missing person. Danger lurks at every corner. Will Jeremy be able to solve the crimes without bringing harm to his new loves, Maggie and her daughter?
If you are a lover of thrillers, you will definitely find yourself submerged in this story.
