My thoughts: DARK HARBOR is Ms. Barritt’s most recent Love Inspired Suspense, and as per the formula for these books, the heroine is kept running for her life. She’s a travel journalist, for pity’s sake. Who would be out to hurt her? The only one who has motive is Zach because she is also semi-investigating his involvement in a murder, but her instinct says he’s a good guy. Plus, he always saves her. When things go from bad to worse, Madelyn isn’t sure whether to stay in town or leave. But how can she leave with the job undone?
I enjoyed reading DARK HARBOR and am anxious to read Ms. Barritt’s next book I have in my to-read-pile (hopefully, soon). I did guess who the “bad guy” was easily — as soon as “he” was introduced — because I know the formula. But I didn’t know why, and even figuring it out early didn’t make it predictable. Fans of Love Inspired Suspense will love Dark Harbor.
