Someone wants Mississippi prosecutor Ashlynn Morris dead…and they’ve taken her son to get to her. The only person she can trust to get him back is his father, a man who doesn’t even know about their secret child. When grief and survivor guilt pushed army ranger Garrett Lewis to run out on their wedding five years ago, he knew he was leaving behind the love of his life. But a son? Finding out he’s a father has him reeling, especially since his little boy is missing. But now the tormented ex-soldier has a new mission, one that can’t fail. Protect the woman he’s never stopped loving…and bring her son—their son—home for Christmas.
My thoughts: First, the disclaimer. “I was provided a free paperback copy of this book. All opinions are my own.” That done, MISTLETOE REUNION THREAT is the fourth book in the Rangers Under Fire series, but it easily stands alone. I haven’t read any of the other books in it and had no trouble keeping up. As per usual with these books, the heroine is always underfire and has no hope of hiding even through she is taken to a variety of places. And also as per usual, I figured out who the bad “guy” is right away and how “he” always knew where she was, but I didn’t know “why”. A clue did come toward that end about midway through the book, but I wasn’t sure if that was the total reason or just a nugget, and you know, those with curious minds… we want to know “why?”
Fans of Love Inspired Suspense will surely devour MISTLETOE REUNION THREAT and be anxious for Ashlyn to not only find her son, but also to reunite with her college sweetheart, Garrett–if she survives that is. Non stop action that is sure to keep the reader on the edge of their seats.
