Despite her love for Ian, Sierra Rose knows he has no room in his life for her as long as the mystery of his missing niece goes unsolved. The only problem is, Sierra has solved it, but a promise to Esme to keep her whereabouts secret has made it impossible to be around Ian.
When the PEAK chopper is damaged and Sierra lacks the funds to repair it, Ian offers a fundraising junket for large donors on his yacht in the Caribbean. But the three-day excursion turns into a nightmare when a rogue wave cripples the yacht and sends the passengers overboard. Shaken up and soaked to the bone, Ian finally has a chance to test his theory when he and Sierra do indeed find themselves washed up on a strange, empty shore.
It will take guts and gumption for the PEAK team to rescue the duo. But it will take a miracle to rescue Ian and Sierra’s relationship.
My thoughts: I love Susan May Warren’s books as a rule, and TROUBLED WATERS is edge of your seat fiction that will keep you riveted all the way to the end of the book.
Ian and Sierra have this type of on again and off again relationship. They fell in love pretty much the moment they met but Sierra is the daughter of a hippie and Ian is a billionaire and used to having things his way and while Sierra was a competent employee he was the boss. Now, she’s fired, basically homeless and working for the PEAK Rescue company, but when a helicopter goes down in a fire they are left stranded, especially when it turns out that the helicopter wasn’t insured!
To raise money Sierra proposes using Ian’s yacht to have a fund-raiser for PEAK. But then things go from bad to worse.
There are two romances in this book, but Pete and Jess’s remains unfinished as at least for now, Jess has to go her own way.
TROUBLED WATERS is stand alone, but fans will want to read them in order to find out the history behind PEAK, see Ian and Sierra meet for the first time, and read the other team members’ stories.
The books are (in order) Wild Montana Skies, Rescue Me, A Matter of Trust and TROUBLED WATERS. Don’t miss a single episode of this adventure romance series by Susan May Warren.
My only complaint, she calls the Coast Guard bozos. Really. My son is a Coastie. I told my son though and he laughed. And to be fair, the author says the characters only said that because they were frustrated with the rules. It in no way reflects the opinion of the author.
