How did that happen, he wonders? When his daughter Eva tells him she’s been having dreams about his safety, Sam starts to fear he’s losing it and the darkness starts closing in on him, clouding his judgment and making him want to do things he’d never do. Only his daughter’s love if it can penetrate the darkness, can stop him.
As is usual with Dellosso, the plot is unique and intriguing. The characters are real and compelling. The spiritual message is perfectly executed and it won’t leave you alone once you finish the book. I have read all of Dellosso’s books and have enjoyed each of them for these reasons and for his superb ability to write gripping prose. But, Darkness Follows has surpassed his pervious books and takes his writing to a new level. I cannot wait to read his next book, Frantic.
