Dr. Jefferson Burke is the Dean of History at the University of Illinois in Urbana. A man on a mission, claiming to be an agent of the Vatican, states that he needs Dr. Burke on a matter of life and death. He is searching for an ancient scroll, another Gospel, allegedly written by Joseph, the stepfather of Jesus. Now this scroll may discount the divinity of Jesus and it may be stored right there at the University and only Burke can get it. And the adventure begins!
The hunt is on for this ancient scroll which will lead Dr. Burke and FBI agent, Lisa Marie Cho, who is trying to protect him, to the mountains of Afghanistan and various other spots on the planet as new information leads the little team to the next encounter with possible death. The bad guys are led by multi-billionaire, Bruno Krueger who will stop at nothing to posses the scroll to use in his quest for world dominion.
What makes a book a thriller? Putting the heroes in deadly danger and keeping them there until almost the last page. Ace Collins has delivered an exciting, pulse-pounding thriller with “Jefferson Burke And The Secret Of The Lost Scroll”. Burke and the team are narrowly escaping death trap after death trap set up by Krueger as both teams hunt for this scroll. Ace Collins has given us a mystery, detective story, spy adventure and romance all neatly rolled up into one book. I did not want to put down “”Jefferson Burke And The Secret Of The Lost Scroll”.
There are a number of great themes in this book one of which is fear of the unknown. No one has read the scroll yet most people fear what it has to say. Your relationship with Jesus plays an integral part in this book, to find out why it must be read. Mr. Collins has created a winner with this series as he said there will be more Jefferson Burke stories. I recommend this book highly and am looking forward to the next book in the series.
