Another splendid novel by Susan Sleeman! So many intricate details into terrorist investigations, protocol, and other government agencies working together to solve a national threat indicate a lot of research went into pulling this novel off in a superb manner.
While FBI Agent Kiley Dawson resents the thought of working with ICE Agent Evan Bowers, her teammates convince her they may need Evan’s expertise may in their investigation. Kiley blames Evan for the death of her former partner. She is convinced he’d made a bad decision and didn’t take his job seriously. She can’t allow her past feelings for him to continue under those circumstances.
Evan finds himself working side-by-side with Kiley again, against her apparent wishes. He blames himself for her partner’s death, and he knows she places full blame on him. He needs to explain to her the details of the operation and where things went wrong, but she won’t listen. Evan struggles to dismiss his attraction to her knowing she’d never give him a chance at a relationship.
The intense search for a terrorist cell continues, and the threats build as they get closer and closer to locating the targets. Will Kiley and Evan zero in on the cell’s intended target and save the lives of millions? Will Kiley settle down long enough to hear Evan out? Will she release her anger against him?
The twists and complex details in Minutes to Die will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you are a romantic suspense fan, you’ll love this novel.
I give Minutes to Die five stars.
