The opening scene in Closer Than She Knows will draw you in like a magnet and keep you turning the page. The characters are well-rounded and realistic, and the plot is plausible. I loved the fast-paced action and the suspense that never slowed.
Court reporter, Teagan O’Rourke, falls prey to a serial killer who taunts her by leaving personal notes for her at each crime scene. He promises to come after her, but not until he destroys her family and close friends. Against her family’s wishes, Teagan will not carry a weapon for self-defense.
Her friend, Max Kennedy, arrives on the scene and refuses to leave Teagan alone until the killer is behind bars. He comes close to losing his life when the stalker turns on him, but Max will do anything to keep Teagan safe. He has long desired a relationship with her, but with his past issues, he doubts she will give him a chance.
Who is this killer and why is he after her? How many of Teagan’s friends must die before the stalker makes his move on her? Will Max be able to protect her? Will she open her heart to Max?
I give this novel five stars. If you enjoy reading romantic suspense, you will love this book.
