I just finished The Last Plea bargain by Randy Singer and as usual for a Randy Singer book, it’s an intriguing read that I couldn’t put down. Jamie Brock is a tough district attorney who won’t compromise and accept plea bargains. No matter what. Especially not for the man who killed her mother or Caleb Tate the attorney who defended him. Not when her mother’s murderer is on death row nor when Tate’s wife is murdered and Tate is accused and tried for the murder.
Jamie will do almost anything to see both of these men pay and she won’t back down. Not even when her world spins out of control and she realizes not everything is as it seems.
I’ve long been a Randy Singer fan and as I was thinking about this review, I came up with the five things you can always count on in his novels and The Last Plea Bargain is no exception.
- Amazing characters – His characters are always, real, flawed and likeable.
- Creative Plots – His plots are timely, interesting and seem as if they could be found as a true story in the current news section of the paper.
- Authentic legal knowledge – His legal knowledge leaps off the page with authenticity and brings such realism to his legal dramas.
- Non-preachy spiritual message – His messages are woven so intricately into the plot they are seamless and never stand out in a glaring way
- Twists and turns – His plots always twist and turn and resolve in a very unexpected way.
So if you haven’t picked up a Randy Singer novel, why not start with The Last Plea Bargain? No matter which of his books you choose, you won’t be disappointed.
