Susan May Warren in her new book “You Don’t Know Me” Book Six in the Deep Haven series published by Tyndale House Publishers takes us into the life of Annalise Decker.
From the back cover: The secret she’s kept to protect her family could be the very thing that tears them apart.
To all who know her, Annalise Decker is a model wife and mother. She’s a permanent member of the PTA, never misses a sporting event, and is constantly campaigning for her husband’s mayoral race.
No one knows that Annalise was once Deidre O’Reilly, a troubled young woman whose testimony put a dangerous criminal behind bars. Relocated through the Witness Security Program to the quaint harbor town of Deep Haven, Deidre received a new identity and a fresh start, which began when she fell in love with local real estate agent Nathan Decker.
Twenty years later, Annalise couldn’t be more unprepared for her past to find her. When Agent Frank Harrison arrives with news that the man she testified against is out on parole and bent on revenge, Annalise must face the consequences of her secrets. Will she run again, or will she find the courage to trust those she loves most with both her past and her future?
I am sorry to report that I have not read the previous Deep Haven novels from Susan May Warren. This is an oversight that I will soon rectify. I like this town. Ms. Warren does such a good job with the town and its inhabitants that you want to go there and live with them despite that the winters there are brutal. Annalise is the perfect heroine, she has a secret identity that has suddenly come back and threaten her as well as her unsuspecting family. ”You Don’t Know Me” is a marriage romance as Annalise is both wife and mother. No affair, no new romance they are in it for the long haul and this is what makes the book all the more captivating. Add tho the mix that it is a thriller and you now have a book that will keep you reading late into the night. This book is a story about secrets, all kinds of secrets and what they will do to a person and a family when, eventually, they are found out. ”You Don’t Know Me” is an emotional ride that will wring you out and then fill you with renewal. God tells us that all things work together for the good and that, in His time, He makes all things beautiful. Want to really know how He does it? Susan May Warren shows us the how in this exciting story. ”You Don’t Know Me” is a wonderful, sweet story with power and depth that will keep you flipping pages. I recommend this book highly and look forward to a return to Deep Haven.
