She’s come home to put a killer behind bars. But the killer plans to put her six feet under.
Investigative reporter Jillian Carter knows it’s time to put the past to rest. She’s tired of looking over her shoulder, letting a killer go free. She’s no longer the scared kid who changed her name and disappeared. Now, no matter what the cost, Jillian must do what she is trained to do–find the truth and expose it. And the truth is that Senator Frank Hoffman committed murder ten years ago–and Jillian watched it happen.
Didn’t she?
WHEN A SECRET KILLS is the third and final book in Ms. Eason’s Deadly Reunion series. The books stand alone, but since they are tied together by three friends who are in all three books, you’ll want to start at the beginning with When the Smoke Clears and When a Heart Stops to find out everyone’s story.
Jillian is hiding—but when a close friend dies in a car bomb intended for her, she knows she’s been found—and it’s time to face the killer she’s hid from for ten years. She heads home, and the police find her when another attempt is made on her life at the airport. She tells the police about the murder she witnessed ten years before—but they don’t believe her—mainly because the Senator’s nephew is on the police force. But then evidence surfaces that proves that she might be right. Problem is, two of the suspicious deaths were “solved and closed” years early. I rooted for Jillian as she faced her past, faced her fears, and I wanted the guilty put behind bars. There were some twists, but even so, I figured out whodunit early on mainly because I know how a writer’s mind works.
