Q: What one thing would you like readers to know about you?
A. I’m so grateful to God for filling me with ideas and giving me this burning desire to write. I’ll probably continue to write until I die unless He sends me in a different direction, of course.
Q: What is the craziest, most risk-taking thing you’ve ever done?
A. I’m not a huge risk-taker because I grew up in a “fear” family. That’s one thing that set the stage for me to write suspense because everywhere I go I’m considering the possible danger. I think the craziest thing I’ve ever done was agree to marry a guy I had only known a few weeks. We’re still going strong coming up on 28 years next month. (February)
Q: Tell me three things about yourself that would surprise your readers.
A. 1. I’m a Texas girl through and through but I love the cold and snow up north.
2. One of my favorite hobbies is sleeping.
3. I use both sides of my brain equally. I’m a left and right brain person.
Q: What is the number one item to do on your bucket list?
A. I would love to see Tuscany! I’d love to watch them bake bread in their wood ovens that burn dried grapevines.
Q: Would you tell us about your current book release UNDERCOVER PROTECTOR and where the idea for this story came from?
A. My hero is a federal agent with the Fish and Wildlife Service working undercover to to bring down a wildlife trafficking ring at a tiger sanctuary, of all places—the very place where abused animals are taken and cared for. He doesn’t know if my heroine, who founded the tiger sanctuary, is guilty or not. I had a lot of fun writing this story and learned much while researching about wildlife trafficking and the animal populations decimated by poaching, which was also disheartening. As to how I came up with the idea, I’m always searching for a unique kind of hero and when I knew I wanted to use a FWS special agent, then I also knew I would use a tiger sanctuary. When I lived in Oregon I visited a big cat sanctuary and the creatures have always fascinated me.
